Prepare to Submit Your Master

Your CD and DVD masters are the heart and soul of your project. Therefore, please review the steps below before submitting your masters. They will help eliminate errors and insure that your replication project proceeds:

Step 1. Test your master before sending it in.

Before sending in your master, test it thoroughly to make sure that it performs exactly the way you want it to. Your finished discs will be an identical copy of your master.

Step 2. Do not use packet writing to produce a DVD master for manufacturing.

With packet writing, data can be written to a DVD incrementally, instead of all at once. Because data is written to it a few files at a time, a packet-written DVD will have multiple tracks and discontinuities in the data which do not belong in a disc image suitable for manufacturing.

Step 3. Always use high-quality recordable (DVD-R) non-rewritable discs for your DVD-ROM masters

DVD+R or DVD-R are acceptable for replication of DVD-5, DVD-9 and DVD-10 discs, and can be produced on either an authoring or general drive. Any project requiring CSS or Macrovision copy protection must be authored as such when submitting masters.

Step 4. Handle all masters carefully, both before and after recording.

Touch them only by the edges and keep them free of fingerprints and scratches that can cause data errors. Make sure your master and box are labeled clearly with your contact information. Mail your masters to the following address:
